Turtles are happy creatures, they must be-- you never hear then complain-they are stress free- they just wander around munching their veggies, never in much of a hurry unless they smell a treat, just like we should be, calm, relaxed, eating our veggies until we smell a treat like Chocolate, or ice cream hehe.
I love the idea of being like a turtle--i picture the old hippy life style living in a converted bus, traveling all over the country stopping to munch the veggies, smell the flowers, meet new people, make friends, experence all sorts of things, people, places... "treats".
what could be a more peaceful existance??

If the land of OZ means Australia, that's where I live. I've known a few people who have kept turtles as pets, and they seem to be easy-going enough. I don't know how much emotional response they show to humans, though. Not like dogs. Still, each to their own. I found your blog when searching for people who like reading fantasy. It may not be high on your agenda, I can't say when I don't know you but if you ever want to try a new title, can I suggest one? "Outcasts Of Skagaray" is an adventure fantasy, which you can preview by reading the sample chapters on www.threeswans.com.au If you feel like checking my blog, it is http://threeswans.blogspot.com Visit if you wish. If you read and enjoy the book, I will be delighted. Best wishes, any way.
No i meant land of OZ as in the "Wizard of OZ" a reference to Kansas.
i like a lot of fantasy and will look up your book Thanks for the comment and suggestion. :)
Thanks for your reply. I hope you find the novel interesting. Good to meet you in any case.
I would so love to be living on an island called Tortuga Island with my assorted critters. There all turtles and tortoises would be safe to live out their lives fear free and free from harm. We need to protect our shelled friends from abuse and harm. They are all so cute and lovable.
To be a Tortel. That is the life for me. Boo-hiss on those who hurt the little ones. Shame on them all!
